What Religion am I?

I believe that religion was made by man, for man, therefore, I do not align myself with any religion. I feel that religion separates us from our Father, YaHuWaH. He detailed the way to live a life for Him in the Torah, and then sent Yahuwshua to us. Yahuwshua lived the Torah perfectly, fulfilled hundreds of prophecies and then became our permanent blood sacrifice, the perfect Passover Lamb. The teachings of any man need to be verified (Deuteronomy 19:15.). TOO MANY people believe (and I mean GET THEIR FAITH FROM) their preacher/pastor/priest and NEVER pick up their Scriptures!! (Go to http://www.e-sword.net/ and get a free copy of the Scriptures!)

Here are the basics of my beliefs: I believe (my "religion", my personal faith) that there is ONE "God" who created EVERYTHING. He gave His Name to Mosheh (Moses) as YHWH (as we would "see" it in English). I have done a lot of research and have asked the Father how to say His name, and I pronounce it YaHuWaH (Yah-hoo-ah). "God" and "Lord", even Elohim and Adonai, are TITLES, not names. Zechariah 13:9 tells us that we need to call on His NAME, not an impersonal title. Yahuwah also gave Moses "The Law" or the Torah. The Torah (the first 5 books of the old testament) outlines what sin is, and how to live your life for Yahuwah. But the problem was that the people kept turning away from Him in service to other gods.

YaHuWaH, our Heavenly Father sent His Son to Earth. Luke 1:31 tells us about the messenger (angel) who came to Miryam (Mary) and told her what to name Yahuwah's Son. 99% of your bibles will say "Jesus" (14 of my 15 bible modules do). If you do the research (Strong's G2424 then H3091), you'll also see that in Hebrew, our Savior's name is Yahuwshua (yah-hoo-SHOO-ah). The other pronunciations, like Yeshua, Y'shua, Yehoshua, Yahoshua etc. are "defective", which happens with transliteration. Matthew 1:21 tells us that Miryam was to name her Child Yahuwshua, because He shall save His people from their sins. Yahuwshua, in Hebrew, means YaHuWaH Saves.

Yahuwshua was sent to us by Yahuwah as a perfect, sinless man, to live out the entire Torah, to complete it. Yahuwshua was the only man to ever live the Torah perfectly, who died horribly for our sins. Through His blood, all of our sins (past, present and future) are forgiven (Ephesians 1:7). Yahuwshua is the ultimate sacrifice, taking away our need to sacrifice/offer animals as atonement for our sins. I follow the example that Yahuwshua set forth and His 2 commands: Love Yahuwah with all your heart, mind, spirit and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. The Torah is completed in these words- you shall love your neighbor as yourself (Galatians 5:14). Through Yahuwshua's sacrifice, a New Covenant was established with YHWH and the Old Covenant (the Torah) was completed.

I also believe in what most people call the "Holy Spirit". The correct Hebrew term is the Ruach HaKadosh, or the Set-Apart Spirit. Ruach means "breath" and this breath is the Breath of YaHuWaH! The Ruach is Yah's breath/spirit among the people. When people are "filled with the Ruach", it is a symbol of Yahuwah's presence in their being! Now I personally think that there is not a SPECIFIC physical reaction that takes place when this happens. Many people think you have to speak in tongues, and that's all. That's just untrue. Heck, Miryam conceived Yahuwshua BY the Ruach! I think we all exhibit our own reaction, but there's definitely a "FILLED WITH" feeling!

There is also a list of things I am not. I am not a Messianic. I am not a Sacred Namer. I avoid people with cult-like mentalities, and avoid people who give me a list of things to do to be saved. I am not someone who beats people over the head with Torah or Messianic teachings. I am not anti-Paul/Sha'ul. I do not look down on people who celebrate Christmas or Easter, use "the Lord" in reference to Messiah, or choose to worship on Sunday. We each have our own walk with YHWH and His Son, and we need to focus on our own walk. I keep the "speck vs. plank" teaching in the forefront of my mind as much as I can.

That is my religion/faith. I "practice what I preach" as best as I can. Basically, I want my "works" follow my faith. Now, I'm still learning, and that's ok. There's stuff that I don't know yet. But I'm going to keep studying and keep learning. I am going to sin and I'm going to fail, but my sins are forgiven through Yahuwshua haMashiach and for that, I am eternally grateful!!

(If you ever think I'm being a hypocrite, PLEASE let me know and we can talk about it!!)
